We’re proud to share that Christopher Stroud, our co-founder and Chief of Research, has been recognized by HousingWire as a 2019 Rising Star. “Much appreciation to HousingWire for naming me as one of this year’s Rising Stars,” says Chris. “This recognition is a testament to HouseCanary’s valuation technology, and is only made possible through the dedication and hard work of our engineering and research teams.”
“HousingWire’s Rising Stars program recognizes industry professionals under 40 who have become leaders in their respective fields,” writes HousingWire, “those who are helping move the market forward, and making a strong impact on the housing economy.” We are fortunate to have Chris Stroud as a leader among a team full of emerging talent, and glad his efforts are getting industry attention.
CEO and co-founder Jeremy Sicklick, who started HouseCanary with Chris in 2013, says, “Chris is one of the sharpest data scientists and machine learning experts in real estate and the financial world. He has led innovation around the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning to build real estate valuations that are significantly more accurate than anything humans have been able to achieve. It has been an honor to co-found HouseCanary with Chris and watch him truly innovate in the space.”
Chris is an economist with training from UC Santa Barbara and UT San Antonio and a passion for system dynamics. He oversees our research team in creating insightful predictive analytics through machine learning, dynamic modeling, and cloud computing. Chris tells us that what he likes most about his job is “the flexibility to explore, develop, and test cutting-edge research.”
